Keydous Models & Switches Guide
Understanding Our Model Names
- HE (Hall Effect): Driven by Hall Effect sensor technology; compatible with magnetic switches only.
- TMR (Dual-Compatibility): Powered by advanced TMR sensors; supports both magnetic and mechanical switches simultaneously on the same board.
- HE and TMR keyboards carry the'-CP'model suffix, such as the NJ80-CP and NJ98-CP.
- Magnetic Switches: Allows per-key adjustable actuation and dynamic travel settings for ultra-low latency gaming.
- Mechanical Switches: Classic hot-swappable switches with fixed actuation distance for traditional typing feel.

Positioning Plate Overview
Steel Plate
Louder, brighter, and crisper (clackier). Used most in NJ80/NJ98 mechanical keyboards.
Stiff with snappy, energetic bottom-out
- You prefer a crisper, brighter, and louder typing sound (classic clack).
- You want a highly responsive, stiff typing platform with sharp tactile feedback.
- You are on a budget and want to keep costs down. Your desk setup favors a silver aesthetic.
Brass Plate
Deeper, warmer, and more rounded (thockier). Used most in keydous mechanical and HE switch keyboards.
Rigid but dense; solid and premium bottom-out
- You are chasing a deeper, bassier, and more muted sound profile.
- You want your keyboard to feel physically heavier and more premium on your desk.
- You love the premium look of the gold plate peeking through your keycaps.
Aluminum Plate
Stiff, crisp, direct feedback. Used in HE keyboards only.
Mid-to-high pitch, bright (Clack)
- Prioritize instantaneous feedback for competitive gaming: Essential for fast-paced FPS or RTS gaming where a firm, immediate response on bottom-out is preferred.
FR4 Plate
Slightly flexy, soft, cushioned bottom-out. Used in NJ80 Pro keyboard Only.
Mid-to-low pitch, deep, rounded (Thock / Marbley)
- Balanced Flex: Hardness sits comfortably between rigid metals (Aluminium/Brass) and soft plastics (PC/POM). The bottom-out feels cushioned without feeling squishy.
- Vibration Dampening: The fiberglass structure absorbs impact energy, producing a milder typing feel that significantly increases comfort for extended writing or working sessions.
- Responsive Rebound: Retains subtle springiness without slowing down keystroke return times.
